Biography

Patrick Dorgu was born Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu on October 26, 2004, in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is from Nigerian descent from the paternal side and Danish descent from the maternal side. His parents, Paul and Clara Dogu are originally from Nigeria. He grew up in Husum, a neighbourhood in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he began his football career at a local club Husum BoldKlub alongside his brothers Ifenna and Gabriel.

Dorgu is a Danish professional footballer who started up at the youth level. He started up at Nordsjælland’s youth academy before he joined the Italian club Lecce at the under-19 level in 2022.

He moved to Lecce senior squad for the 2023-24 season and made his debut on August 13, 2023, in a Coppa Italia match against Como. He made his Serie A debut a week later in a match against Lazio.

At the international level, he represented Denmark at the under-21 level. He was called up to the senior team for Nations League, for matches against Switzerland and Serbia, in September 2024. He eventually made his debut in a 2-0 victory against Switzerland on September 5, 2024, where he came on as a substitute for Victor Nelsson in the 81st minute.
