Brent Faiyaz was born Christopher Brent Wood on September 19, 1995, in Columbia, Maryland, United States. He is of mixed ethnicity, as his father is of Dominican descent and mother, African-American. He attended Long Reach School and graduated at the age of 17.
Brent Faiyaz is an American singer songwriter, Rapper, and record producer who came to limelight after being featured on the 2016 single “Crew” by Goldlink and also featuring Shy Glizzy.
He took interest in music at the age of six with influences from the likes of Lauryn Hill, Jeff Buckley, Aaliyah, Curtis Mayfield, Currensy and so on. He began producing music at the age of 12. He eventually came through in 2013 with his debut extended play, Black Child, and followed up with another one titled “A.M Pardox” in 2016. The same year, he was also lead vocalist in the R&B trio Sonder. He released the EP “Fuck the World” in February 2020.
He released his debut studio album, Wonder Son in 2017. His second studio album, Wasteland, was released in 2022.
