Ruben Filipe Marques Amorim professionally known as Ruben Amorim, was born on January 27, 1985, in Lisbon, Portugal. His parents divorced when he was barely a year old. His cousins are David Simão and Bruno Simão.

Amorim has two children. He got married to Maria Joã Diogo at the Palácio e Mosteiro de São Marcos, and they have a son together. His wife, Maria João is an interio designer with a degree in telecommunications engineering. Amorim stands at a height of 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m).

Ruben Amorim is a professional football manager and former player who became known as the Head coach of the Portuguese football club Sportin Lisbon before his transfer to the Premier league side Manchester united.

He began his career as a football player and spent most of his career with Belenensesa and Benfica. He won ten major titles with Benfica and retired in 2017. During this time, he played the position of a midfielder and sometimes was deployed as a winger or right-back.
