Born Santiago Tomás Castro on September 18, 2004, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He began his career at the youth level with Vélez Sarsfield. He made his debut on August 3, 2021, against Atletico Tucumán.
He signed with the Serie A club Bologna on January 30, 2024. He scored his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw against Juventus on May 20 of that same year.
